YOUTH DANCE COMPANY
Founded in 2006, Dimension Dance is an exciting new youth dance company based at Wakefield Arts Centre. The company is open to young dancers from all backgrounds to develop technical and performance skills in a variety of different dance styles. The company will work to develop educational links with schools to provide quality dance teaching and performance opportunities within a theatrical and commercial backdrop.
Entry into the company is by audition or invitation ONLY. Auditions take place in Winter of every year.
Our main aim is to develop each individual that is successful enough to be accepted as a member of the company.
Not only will each individual learn new techniques in a variety of different styles but they all will have the opportunity to showcase their talent on a number of platforms.
The platforms range from local venues (such as Wakefield Arts Centre) to national venues (such as The Scoop in London) and
NEW for 2009 we intend to take these platforms to an international market.
Louise Wilkins, Artistic Director and Paul Wilkins, Company Director are supported by several company members that have shown executive qualities who have been given extra responsibilities within the business. These “EXECUTIVES” have a development training program which includes carrying out workshops within local education establishments.
